It’s been a tough last few years for stores across the country, stemming from the pandemic, as lack of revenue has hurt many restaurants and retailers since the start of 2020.
The announced closures of the Bed, Bath & Beyond a while back was a blow to those who loved home decorations and accessories.
On this Fourth of July Weekend, some surprising developments regarding another major retailer, as it appears that they will close for good after a failed loan bid.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Christmas Tree Shops plan on closing all of their locations. Those locations include Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester.
The store will liquidate their remaining locations; all this after they had planned on closing just under-performing stores in August.
The Wall Street Journal’s report says that the closure is because of a denied, $45 million bankruptcy loan, which was not signed off by creditors.
Christmas Tree Shops is a home-retailer, which offers a variety of accessories and decorations for a home, most notably holiday decorations, hence the name of the company.
The Buffalo-area Christmas Tree Shops is located on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst. It’s the Boulevard Plaza, near Ridge Lea and Maple Road. It’s been a fixture in Western New York over the last 10 years.
There’s no word on when the final date of Christmas Tree Shops being open will be, but for those who want to venture to the store for last-minute items, it’s probably a safe bet to do that as soon as possible.
