Job Description:
Responsible for strategy, projects and results in sales, underwriting, application processing, loan fulfillment, disbursement, servicing, collections and recovery.
Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
Builds strategic roadmap that utilizes technology to create digital and simplified agent experience.
Directly manages multiple product teams of product owners, mortgage subject matter experts and continuous improvement specialists. Builds and manages relationships with internal and external parties to drive transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Creates vision based on thorough understanding of customer needs and develops corresponding roadmap for improvement ideas. Guides execution of resulting projects by evaluating and refining ideas, assessing impact, prioritizing resource allocation, and overseeing design and implementation.
- Develops and drive strategies and results by identifying, leading and managing Agile/Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement initiatives, with a focus on standardization, simplification and automation, cost reduction, and customer experience improvement.
- Provides strategic and tactical direction for operational activities to grow origination volume, retain receivables, manage credit losses, ensure customer satisfaction, and control expenses in a manner consistent with regulations, company policies, business goals and organizational risk appetite.
- Hires and develops employees, defines goals and responsibilities, provides feedback and evaluates performance of direct reports.
- Evaluates operational performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes initiatives and allocates operational resources.
- Collaborates with peers in product, analytics, marketing, internal operations, outsourced operations, credit risk, technology, finance, law and internal controls to define and achieve goals.
- Evaluates existing and potential new third party vendors, negotiates contract terms, manages relationships in accordance with vendor management standards, monitors service level agreements and escalates issues.
- Ensures operational policies, procedures, process maps, control descriptions, control tests, training materials, job aids and other materials are accurate and appropriately documented.
- Presents strategies and results to senior executives and identifies best practices across business units.
- Develops frameworks and processes for change management from idea intake through post-implementation validation and monitoring.
- Promotes a risk-aware culture; ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to regulations and corporate policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, Mathematic, Engineering, Statistics, or Analytics
- 10+ years of experience in Operations, Process Management, or related experience
- 4+ years of people management experience
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 12+ years of experience in Operations, Process Management, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we’d also look for:
- Master’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, Mathematic, Engineering, Statistics, or Analytics
- Lean, Six Sigma, and/or demonstrated process improvement expertise
- Hands on design and implementation experience of loan originations systems
- Expert knowledge of CFPB disclosure requirements, mortgage regulations and Underwriting guidelines
- Exposure to multiple cycles of building strategic roadmap that utilizes technology to create digital and simplified agent experience
- Experience managing technical budgets
- Understanding of the vendors (credit, appraisal, title etc.) that are used to originate loans, procurement and sourcing of vendors, term negotiations and vendor oversight
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $169,000.00 to $257,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
