How to Get Your Premium Refund
If your home meets the energy efficiency requirements and you have CMHC mortgage loan insurance, you can apply for the Eco Improvement refund.
Make sure you have documentation to show the renovations you’ve completed, such as:
- EnerGuide Renovation Upgrade Report (RUR)
- EnerGuide Label
- Paid invoices or estimates confirming completed work and amount paid,
- Letter or attestation from contractor or program administrator, if applicable,
- Compliance report, if applicable.
Time limit for the eligible supporting documentation
Supporting documentation may be used for up to 5 years, including for subsequent purchasers.
