MHRS board having meeting
ZANESVILLE − The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Thursday at the board office, 1500 Coal Run Road. The finance and audit committee and partners workgroup will meet prior at 6 p.m. This is a date change from previously announced.
Zanesville Schools BOE having special meeting
ZANESVILLE − Zanesville City Schools Board of Education will meet in special section at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the administrative office, 956 Moxahala Ave. The purpose is to approve construction items, discuss personnel and any other business deemed lawful for consideration.
Public Safety Committee meeting
ZANESVILLE − Zanesville City Council’s Public Safety Committee will meet in regular session at 5 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers at city hall. There will be a discussion on side-by-sides on city roads and ambulance service.
Make Muskingum Home taking applications
ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Community Foundation and J.W. and M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation are accepting applications for the second annual Make Muskingum Home talent attraction and retention program for Muskingum County.
The program will make payments toward student loan debt of up to $10,000 a year for five years for successful applicants who live and work in Muskingum County. Applicants living or working outside the county with federal student loan debt from the past seven years are eligible to apply with the understanding they will be required to live and work in the county. Those currently living and working in the county may apply if they have student loan debt from the past three years.

Foundation having fall grant cycle
ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Community Foundation is taking applications for its third annual fall grant competition through noon Oct. 3.
Non-profit organizations in Muskingum County may seek funding for capital improvement projects. This can include roof repairs, wheelchair entrances, computer hardware and other physical improvements or equipment. Five grants of $10,000 each will be awarded.

Morgan County residents part of governor appointments
COLUMBUS − Two residents of Morgan County where among appointments made by the Office of Gov. Mike DeWine recently.
Bernie R. Anderson of McConnelsville was reappointed to the Washington State Community College Board of Trustees for a term from Sept. 1, 2023, to Feb. 17, 2029.
Heather Brazell-Hill of Malta was appointed to the Ohio Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission for a term from Sept. 1, 2023, to Dec. 30, 2024.
Davis makes dean’s list
OXFORD − Wade Davis of Nashport was named to the summer semester dean’s list at Miami University. He’s majoring in engineering technology.
